Those who have portraits, absolutely have no business. Someone advised him to draw a picture of himself and his wife and post it, so people would know.
The artist followed the advice. One day, his father-in-law came to visit and asked, "Who is this woman?" He replied, "That's your daughter." He then asked, "Why is she sitting with this stranger?"
Ignorant of the Rules
During a drinking game, one guest was bewildered. A friend jokingly said, "Without knowing the rules, one cannot be a gentleman." The person retorted, "Why change 'fate' to 'rules'?" The answer was, "The commentary on 'The Doctrine of the Mean' states: 'Fate is akin to rules.'"
Visiting the Confucius Temple
A man bought his way into the ranks of scholars and went to pay respects at Confucius' temple. To his surprise, the statue of Confucius stepped down and bowed in return. Shocked, the man protested: "Today, I come as your disciple! You should remain seated and receive my respect." Confucius replied: "Oh no, I wouldn't dare. You are not my disciple you are a disciple of Kong Fang!"
Annotation: Utterly baffling, not sure what's funny, felt quite cold after reading, even in summer it sends chills.
