Then not far ahead on the Bhagavān's path lay a garden named Wealth-Accruing. Within it stood an ancient decaying stūpa: collapsed pillars, courtyards choked by thorns, gates sealed by creeping vines, tiles buried in rubble appearing like an earthen mound. The Bhagavān approached the stūpa, whereupon it emitted blazing radiance illuminating all realms. From the earthen heap resounded praises: "Sādhu! Sādhu! Śākyamuni, your present action embodies supreme virtue! O brāhmaṇa, this day you attain magnificent blessings!"
