You can choose to walk Story for any sect once a month (30-day cooldown).. Another source states the condition as must complete Story of the sect up to level 90. It is not yet confirmed which one is correct.
Trigger point: (Some guides: 450,449) NPC Shi Xinyi
Way to trigger: Choose option Shi Xinyi and use the stance Observe standing no more than ~4 squares away, Chat normally, no issues
Steps:
- Complete the Numina Story sect first.
- Go to Herbal Valley
453,452and use the Observe action on Shi Xinyi. - Talk to Shi Xinyi to accept the quest.
- The rest are purely dialogue scenes; follow the game's guidance until finished.
